When life gives you lemons, make lemonade...

or if you buy lemons and do not want them to go to waste, make lemonade.
Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
~Juice of 4 lemons
~Half cup raw sugar
~6 cups filtered water

Stir well, add ice.

ahhh. if everything in life were that easy. oh and of course, enjoy!

I've decided not to buy store bought juice on a regular basis after reading several articles on the raw food diet and how in general it is better to eat the fruit itself than drink the juice- after drinking only water, milk and the occasional tea for several weeks my little ones were more than excited to enjoy a glass of lemonade, now I know this does have sugar in it- but in contrast to them drinking 8oz of apple juice daily, I'd say this is a great improvement in their daily intake. I encourage you all to start making your own freshly squeezed juice from fresh local produce, get your kids involved, they'll love it!

  1. I read this and went right out and made some lemonade. I liked your post so much I forwarded it to several friends. What do you think of using a sweet Meyer lemon for making lemonade? Do you think it would work? Also, it’s not always easy where I live to get reliably fresh lemons so what I do is order them online (http://www.buy-lemons-online.com/ ) from growers that pick them right off the trees and ship them direct — a tip I learned from my cousin in Minnesota.
